A Journey of Family, Service and Community Leadership

Every journey begins with a single step. Mine began in Hyderabad and continues every day in service to the people of Parramatta.

Growing up in Hyderabad

I was born and raised in Hyderabad, India, in a family that believed deeply in education, integrity and public service. Growing up, I learnt the importance of hard work, respecting others and contributing to society.
These values became the foundation of my life and continue to guide every decision I make today.

In the early 1990s, members of my family made the courageous decision to migrate to Australia, embracing the opportunities and challenges of building a new life in a new country.
Their determination, resilience and hard work laid the foundation for future generations and inspired me to
follow in their footsteps.

My Arrival in Australia (1998)

New opportunities

Adapting to a new country

In 1998, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life by migrating to Australia. Starting life in a new country was both exciting and challenging.
Like thousands of migrants before me, I had to adapt to a new culture, build a new career and establish myself from the ground up.

Australia welcomed me with opportunity, and I made a commitment to give back to the country that had given me so much.
That commitment remains unchanged today.

With a Master’s degree in Information Systems and a passion for technology, I established my professional career within Australia’s IT industry.
Eventually, I joined our family business, SoftLabs, where I helped grow the company into a respected Australian technology consulting firm delivering solutions across government and private sectors.
Working alongside talented people from many cultures strengthened my appreciation for diversity, collaboration and innovation.

While building my professional career, I also began volunteering across Western Sydney.  Community service became an important part of my life.
I worked with local charities, multicultural organisations, sporting clubs, cultural associations and community groups, helping wherever I could.  Over the years I have had the privilege of working alongside hundreds of volunteers who dedicate countless hours to making our community stronger.
These experiences taught me that real leadership begins with listening.

In 2018, during one of Australia’s most challenging droughts, I undertook a 380-kilometre walk from Sydney to Canberra to raise awareness and support for Australian farmers.
Over ten days, I met farming families, community leaders and everyday Australians who shared their stories of resilience and determination.
The journey reinforced my belief that leadership is not simply about speaking—it is about standing beside people when they need support the most.
It remains one of the proudest moments of my community service.

Entering Public Life

Hornsby Shire Councillor

Delivering local outcomes

After years of volunteering and community advocacy, I decided to take the next step by entering local government.
I was honoured to be elected to Hornsby Shire Council, where I worked closely with residents to improve parks, sporting facilities, roads, community infrastructure and local services.
The role reinforced my belief that good local government is built on accessibility, transparency and delivering practical outcomes.

In 2024, I was honoured to be elected as Councillor for the City of Parramatta, representing the people of the Epping Ward.
Today, I continue working with residents, community organisations, businesses and fellow councillors to build a safer, stronger and more connected Parramatta.
Whether it’s improving parks, supporting local businesses, advocating for community facilities or celebrating our multicultural community, I remain committed to putting residents first.

Your commitment to public service

Looking ahead

"Your Voice. Your Community. Our Future."

Behind every public servant is a family who shares the journey.
My wife, Lakshmi, and our children, Parin and Samyuta, have been my greatest source of encouragement and support throughout my career and community service.
Their unwavering support allows me to continue serving our community with dedication and purpose.
My journey from Hyderabad to Parramatta has been shaped by opportunity, resilience and service.
Australia has given me the privilege of building a career, raising a family and serving an extraordinary community.
As I look to the future, my commitment remains simple:

  • Listen with respect.
  • Lead with integrity.
  • Deliver practical outcomes.
  • Build stronger communities.
  • Leave a better Parramatta for future generations.

Because public service is not about titles.
It is about people.
And that journey continues every day.

I am grateful for the journey that has shaped me, the people who have stood by me, and the community that continues to inspire me every day. Your Voice. Your Community. Our Future.
